Victoriabank Successfully Completes Merger with BCR Chișinău
Today, March 3, Victoriabank and BCR Chișinău are merging into a single bank from an operational standpoint. The merger, now in its final stage, is helping Victoriabank grow in the Moldovan market.
With the acquisition of BCR Chișinău, announced in 2024, Victoriabank made history in the Moldovan market, as a local bank acquired another Moldovan banking institution in its entirety.
The financial impact of the acquisition of BCR Chișinău:
Victoriabank's consolidated net profit for 2024 exceeded 1.1 billion lei, an increase of more than 70% compared to 2023.
The volume of loans increased by more than 900 million lei.
As of the merger date, assets increased by 2 billion lei.
Victoriabank is expanding its presence in two strategic regions, Chișinău and Bălți, and its team has grown. More than 50% of BCR Chișinău’s employees are part of the Victoriabank team, and one in four holds a managerial position.

The integration was coordinated by Vasile Donica, in his capacity as CEO of BCR Chișinău, who will return to Victoriabank’s senior management team in his previous role as Vice President of Corporate Affairs.

The accounts, cards, and products of customers migrated from BCR Chișinău are now managed by Victoriabank.

The completion of the merger opens up new opportunities for Victoriabank, which, by consolidating its resources and operational capabilities, reaffirms its commitment to its customers and shareholders.
Update March 13, 2025: The merger between Victoriabank and BCR Chișinău was officially completed on March 13, 2025, the date on which the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) revoked BCR Chișinău’s license, and the amendments to the articles of incorporation were recorded in the State Register of Legal Entities.
