Victoriabank is strengthening its role in the development of the national digital payments ecosystem and is connecting Premier Energy the MIA Instant Payments service, created by the NBM. Through this integration, approximately 1 million electricity consumers benefit from a modern, secure, and fast way to pay their bills online via MIA.
To make a payment, consumers can go to web page the supplier's Premier Energy, and then follow a few simple steps. After verifying the transaction details, they confirm the payment using the method available through the MIA service. Depending on the device used, payment can be initiated either by scanning the displayed QR code or by directly accessing the payment link, with the transaction subsequently completed through the user’s banking app.
Bills for electricity and ancillary services can be paid through MIA regardless of their amount. The new solution allows users to pay both current bills and make advance payments online, directly from their mobile phone or computer. In addition, users benefit from immediate payment confirmation and a high level of security.
“For us, digitization is valuable when it simplifies the things people do every day. Through the MIA Instant Payments platform, we help companies offer their customers faster and more convenient payment methods, and the integration we developed for Premier Energy is a great example of this. When over 70% of the country’s population has access to a digital solution that saves them time, it means that technology is achieving its goal—making people’s lives easier.", he says Mircea Aursulesei, Vice President of Retail Business, Victoriabank.
“We aim to offer our customers services that are as accessible and convenient as possible, and diversifying payment options is an important part of this goal. Victoriabank’s integration of the MIA solution represents another step in our digital transformation process and offers customers the ability to manage their payments in a simple, fast, and secure way, no matter where they are.", it states Galina Porohonciuc, administrator at Premier Energy.
For added convenience, the MIA solution is also available at Premier Energy’s physical service locations in Chișinău and in five districts across the country, where payments can be made using Victoriabank POS terminals located at these sites.
Victoriabank was the first bank in the Republic of Moldova to implement, in partnership with Orange Moldova, the MIA Instant Payments service for businesses. Currently, the bank has integrated MIA payment solutions for nearly 1,100 merchants and over 2,200 acceptance points nationwide. Through these developments, Victoriabank is contributing to the widespread adoption of instant payments and accelerating the digitization of the economy.
